How to: Save a Draft on Instagram

For those of you not using schedulers for Instagram (see Hootsuite or Buffer for some options) there is a really simple way to save drafts on Instagram that you may not be aware of.

This is great if you’re on the road and want to get some posts lined up.

How-to save drafts on Instagram:

  1. Go into the IG app on your phone

  2. Click the [+] button at the mid-bottom of the screen

  3. Photos from your phone library will appear

  4. Select the photo you want to post or make a draft of then hit the blue “next” in the top right corner

  5. Select a filter/edit the photo if you want to and then hit the blue “next” in the top right corner

  6. Write a caption, location, etc. if you’d like, then select the “<” in the top left hand corner

  7. This takes you back to the photo again, select the “<” in the top left hand corner

  8. A menu should pop up that says “Save Draft” and “Discard” – select “Save draft”.

All of your saved drafts will appear in the top line of photos when you go to [+] to post a photo.
